Submissions to present at the 2019 TSPRA Annual Conference are due by Thursday, Oct. 25.
We advise those filling out a proposal to create clear session titles and descriptions, consider timely issues facing conference attendees and use real-life examples or case-studies to help illustrate their topic.
If the session application is accepted, presenters are responsible for their own hotel, travel and conference registration fees.
Concurrent sessions will be equipped with Internet access, a projector, screen, and an extension cord; presenter must furnish any additional equipment needed, including their computer, speakers, handouts, connector cables, etc. as needed.
Roundtable presenters can display presentations at their table on their own computer, tablet or mobile device.
The conference committee will make every effort to accommodate the presenters' time slot preference, but it cannot be guaranteed. All presenters who plan on attending conference sessions or events are required to register and pay for the conference.
Please read through the form below and gather all the necessary information before beginning. Once you start your submission, you will NOT be able to save and come back to it, or edit your information once it has been submitted.
For the first time, TSPRA is asking presenters to prepare short, one-page-or-less tip sheets based on their presentations for the membership.
Think of it not as a summary of your presentation, but as a teaser for it. It can come from the beginning, middle or end. Teach people one thing, a single trick or technique, one potential pitfall to watch out for, whatever works in the context of the presentation you're going to give. Long paragraphs or short bullet points or photo illustrations or whatever you want, so long as it fits on a page.
We'll send these tip sheets out to members before and after conference, as a preview of something they might see or a recap of something from a session they might have missed.
We won't force you to turn these in with your presentation descriptions, though if you think seeing a sample of your work will help persuade the committee to slate you, then feel free to email Eric at the State Office (ebetts [at] tspra.org) with your sheets. If you'd rather wait to hear if you got slated, then more information will be included in the acceptance email.
Preferred Session Length
Roundtables will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. on the morning of Wednesday, Feb. 20.
