Primary Purpose:
Work with the Director of Communications to generate relevant and timely content concerning College Station ISD and its students, staff, and departments. The applicant will be able to produce and communicate this content to students, parents, employees and the community via writing, photography, graphic design, and video production, with an emphasis on video production.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in journalism, public relations, communications or related field preferred
Prefer two years experience in journalism, public relations, communications, or related field
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Operate a digital video camera and edit video using Adobe Premiere and After Effects
- Ability to live-produce school board meetings using multiple pan-tilt-zoom (PTZ) cameras with Blackmagic Studio switcher
- Capture photographs and edit using Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom
- Knowledge and ability to use various social media platforms
- Basic computer and desktop publishing, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite software
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationship with other employees, the news media, and the general public
- HTML knowledge preferred
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
- Shoot and edit video for the CSISD Website, newsletters, and other communication outlets
- Take and edit pictures for the CSISD Website, press releases, newsletters, and other communication outlets
- Identify, research, and create content for the CSISD Website, press releases, newsletters, and other communication outlets
- Gather and disseminate information within established professional deadlines
- Assist in the graphic design of district informational and marketing materials
- Assist in updating and maintaining CSISD website (content-management system) and social media accounts
- Provide general support as needed regarding planning and execution of district events and activities coordinated by the communications office
- Office/clerical duties as necessary
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or other administrator that are consistent with the general requirements and qualifications for the position.

Working Conditions:
Mental demands/physical demands/environmental factors: Maintain emotional control under stress and work with frequent interruptions. Repetitive hand motions and prolonged use of computer. Occasional weekend and evening hours.
