Job Title: Internal Communications Facilitator
Reports to: Chief Communications Officer
Dept/School: Central Administration Office, Communications Department
Work Year: 226 days
Base Salary: Actual salary will be calculated based on experience.
PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Execute and support the internal communication strategies of Frisco ISD through the creation of content for the District.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing or related field preferred
Valid Texas driver’s license
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Possess outstanding oral and written communications skills including superior writing,
grammar, editing, and proofreading skills
Demonstrated ability to think analytically and develop solutions that meet the business
needs of the District
Ability to create a communication and/or project plan to ensure messaging is clear, succinct, and effective
Ability to adapt and change directions in an instant
Ability to work at a fast pace and meet deadlines
Excellent organizational and administrative skills with strong attention to detail
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and consistently deliver high-quality results on time
Highly motivated, persuasive, priority-driven, and collaborative
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in small and large groups
Demonstrated ability to take a project from concept to completion with minimal supervision and direction
Proficient in proofreading and editing with a working knowledge of Associated Press style format
Proficient skills in basic graphic design, desktop publishing, writing, and editing
Ability to communicate technical information effectively
Ability to function productively as a member of a creative team
Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision
Strong team player with the ability to work effectively with partners and staff at all levels
Experience:
5+ years of experience writing with a strong internal communication experience and/or project management experience preferred
Experience with the fundamental concepts of communications, project management, and public relations
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Write and tailor content for specific audiences that demonstrates a deep understanding of messaging, positioning, and stakeholder needs.
Help create an internal communications function across the District that fuels employee engagement, influences connectivity and culture, and positively impacts all offices
Ensure communication messaging and materials are high quality, accurate, appropriate, and integrated with District priorities and themes.
Use internal tools to ensure consistent messaging, branding, imagery, and identity.
Utilize analytics to measure effectiveness of internal communications with the goal of continuously improving internal communications strategy to reach and engage employees.
Manage internal communications output through multiple internal tools.
Prepare a strategic internal communication plan for the District and align internal and executive messaging with the District’s vision, mission, and product positioning.
Ensure internal communication strategy is consistent and reflects the organization’s strategic vision.
Measure and present results of internal communication efforts.
Adjust internal communication plan as needed.
Set timing of release to coordinate with District internal events, initiatives, and/or District deadlines.
Support ideas with research and experience.
Ensure consistent framing of messages.
Edit and revise internal content as necessary.
Edit, design, and print internal publications, internal communication tools, and newsletters, as needed.
Work cross-functionally across teams.
Develop and author a variety of internal communications including presentations, announcements, newsletters and other relative mediums to be delivered across a variety of communications channels.
Maintain the District’s internal communications channels.
Promote events and news through internal communication channels.
Work with various departments on developing content for District communication tools.
Remain current regarding communication trends.
Participate in event planning and activities that are the responsibility of the Communications Department.
Create or assist in the production of presentation materials.
